Hello from Williamsport Maryland,

Well, I finally have a few minutes to post from Nashville and Todd.

We had a blast in Nashville. We took a tour of the city that included a stop at the Ryman Auditorium and the Country Music Hall of Fame. They were awesome. We also toured, drove by, the homes of the stars'. Couldn't see them too well though. We went on a river boat cruise that never left the dock due to boat problems so we had a delicious dinner and a really good show and got a full refund. We also went to The Hermitage, home of Andrew Jackson. Very interesting and a beautiful spot.

The Grand Ole Opry was amazing. It was really neat to be there!! And the music was great.

Our visit with Betty and Walton was wonderful. It was soooo good to see her after 17 years and to finally meet Walton and their daughter Carolina. Olivia made it home for dinner last night and she sure has changes from the little five year old girl she was when I saw her last. Unfortunatly Mary-Ellis was unable to make it home as she has just gone off to university.

It has been a spectacular trip and it is almost over. I should have one more entry to make when we get home.

Til next time

Hello from Nashville

We FINALLY have good internet.

Memphis was GREAT. We went to Sun Studios where Elvis recorded his first record and where the likes of BB King and Roy Oberson recorded.

Graceland was wonderful. It is very well done. The house is left the same way Elvis had it. We learnt a great deal about Elvis the man as apposed to Elvis the performer. He did a great deal of humanitarian work. He was a major contributor to the Arizona Memorial in Hawaii. Originally he was buried in the cemetary in Memphis but two years after his death his father had both Elvis and his mother moved to Graceland for security reasons. People kept trying to dig him up. If all the wreaths and stuff were removed from the grave site it would be a lovely spot. We were very glad we went.

We have a busy few days ahead of us. Tomorrow we are doing the Nashville City and Stars' tour. Friday night we are going to the Grand Old Opry. Thursday we will tour around on our own.

We heard about the earthquakes in Virginia and Colorado and just now from Michael the tornado in Goderich. We also heard about Jack Layton.

LOL til next time
